WHAT
Extremus is a long distance, point-to-point winter trek. This is not a race! This year's trek is in the Adirondacks and known as the Great Range Traverse!
24 miles of snow, ice, rock, and wind.
10,000 feet of elevation change.
Remote Wilderness
Alpine-style group adventure.
WHERE
The base-camp for Extremus 2026 will be TMax-n-Topo, 5046 Cascade Road, Lake Placid, NY 12946. Lodging (bunk will be provided for all participants)

DETAILS
The 2026 version of Extremus will take place Saturday, January 24th. Participants will receive detailed information regarding the route and safety protocol. The route will consist of 8 mountain climbs (Marcy, Haystack, Basin, Saddleback, Gothics, Armstrong, Upper Wolfjaw, and Lower Wolfjaw). The trek will start at ADK LOJ and finish at Roostercomb for a total of 24 miles and 10,000 feet of vert. The route will take approximately 16 hours. Dinner will be served Friday night (Lasagna, salad, and bread) and Saturday (hearty stew and bread).
